The Botanical Garden of Buenos Aires (or: Jardín Botánico Carlos Thays de la Ciudad Autónoma de Buenos Aires;-D) is in the district of Palermo . Click here for the full view of the different "regions" Skulpuren or building on the picture. ^ _ ^
The park was opened in 1898 and houses over 5,000 different plant species - for each walker to recommend it!
With an area of about 70,000 m² it is a recreation area for local residents and in 1996 was even declared a National Monument.
What has struck me is the number of cats that are found in the park. Basking on rocks, curve around the statues or sleep on the roads. The park is home to many that is exposed to domestic cats. When the government wanted to remove the cats, they met with resistance from the people who care for the animals now. This here looks especially from velvety, I think. ;-)
The 33 sculptures are scattered throughout the park, famous by many artists originate. Who is interested in so it can click through the website . ;-)
As you can see on the first image of the park overview, the park is divided into different continents, growing in the course quite different plants. Are we in a forest of dark green, overgrown ground ...
Who the sweltering heat of Buenos Aires will escape a few hours, which can I only recommend this park.
There are also some shrubs of the see Mate- plant, which will show the Argentina, as her favorite plant looks like at all. The leaves of the plant known as Yerba Mate as well as the national drink of Argentina giltet. But for more in a later post. ;-)
yet to discover a view of the park an artistic-looking cat in their daily bath. ^ _ ^ Next time you see Edificion Central in the Jardin Botanico. A cottage middle of the park where I would like to make a couple of weeks holiday.
